The European Commission has accused TikTok of insufficiently protecting children from online harassment due to its design features. This marks the fourth major investigation into TikTok under the Digital Services Act. The Commission highlighted that TikTok allows minors to create public accounts, exposing them to risks. Even private accounts are not fully secure, as they can be discovered by non-users. TikTok stated it will review the Commission's findings and emphasized existing privacy measures for users under 18. If the allegations are confirmed, TikTok could face fines up to 6% of its global annual revenue.
