Theodor Paleologu, ironie de Ziua Educației: „Cum celebrează românii? Nu se duc la școală! Bravos, națiune!”
Theodor Paleologu criticized Romania's observance of World Education Day, highlighting that students and teachers have a day off. He pointed out that this ironic celebration coincides with concerning PISA results, where nearly half of Romanian 15-year-olds fail to meet basic math competencies. The PISA 2022 data shows that only 51% of students reached the minimum level in math, compared to 69% in the OECD average. The situation is slightly better in reading and science, but overall performance remains low. Paleologu's comments reflect a broader issue in the Romanian education system, which struggles with significant gaps in student achievement.
