The Guardian: Grupări criminale latino-americane au ajuns și în România. Traficul de cocaină explodează în Europa

Romania is among European countries experiencing the presence of Latin American criminal groups, as cocaine trafficking to Europe has surged. An investigation by The Guardian reveals that these networks are expanding beyond traditional entry points, now including the Balkan route. The study highlights the involvement of various cartels from Colombia, Brazil, and Mexico in at least 12 European states, with notable activity in Spain, Portugal, and France, as well as Romania and Bulgaria. The report indicates that the scale of this phenomenon may be larger than officially documented, coinciding with a significant increase in cocaine production in Latin America. Europe has become a strategic destination for cocaine trafficking due to higher profit margins compared to the American market.
