Italian divers have discovered a Roman shipwreck off the coast of Sicily, filled with well-preserved amphorae likely used for wine transport. The wreck, estimated to be over 2,100 years old, was found five kilometers from Mazara del Vallo. It is considered one of the most significant recent discoveries in underwater archaeology. The ship, measuring 21 meters in length, primarily carried Dressel 1A amphorae, which were commonly used for wine. The discovery was made possible thanks to information from local fishermen.
