A metal detector search in Germany led to the discovery of 934 ancient Roman silver coins, some over 2,000 years old. The treasure was found near Wesseling, south of Cologne, by an enthusiast who reported the find to authorities after uncovering several coins. Archaeologists confirmed it as the largest hoard from Emperor Hadrian's reign found in Germany and the fifth largest globally from that period. The coins, hidden in the 2nd century AD, included pieces dating back to 148 BC. The reasons for their burial remain unclear, but theories suggest safety concerns or the owner's death before retrieval. The coins are now displayed in Bonn's regional museum.
