Termoenergetica are datorii de 1,75 miliarde de lei la ELCEN

Termoenergetica has accumulated debts of 1.75 billion lei to ELCEN, with additional penalties of 410 million lei, highlighting ongoing issues in Bucharest's heating system. Mayor Ciprian Ciucu pointed out that the current system retains the same administrative and structural flaws that led to RADET's bankruptcy. The actual thermal energy loss is estimated at 38%, significantly higher than the 22% recognized by ANRE, resulting in annual costs of around 130 million lei. The mayor proposed centralizing production, transport, and supply under municipal authority to reduce costs and modernize the aging infrastructure. Recent discussions have led to a solution for prioritizing the repayment of the principal debt to ELCEN, aiming to limit further penalties.
