The Turceni Power Plant's Group 5 has faced 13 accidental shutdowns, with the latest caused by a boiler crack. Repairs may take around 48 hours, but the group was already scheduled for three weeks of maintenance. The plant's director noted that erosion from coal use leads to such issues, and no injuries occurred during the incident. Currently, there is no backup group available to compensate for the shutdown, as Group 4 has been decommissioned. The plant employs 530 workers, with 120 in repairs, and has a coal stockpile of 330,000 tons. After fixing the issue, Group 5 will enter planned maintenance.
