Terminalul GNL Alexandroupolis, strategic pentru România
The CEO of Transgaz, Ion Sterian, visited the floating LNG terminal in Alexandroupolis, Greece, as part of the Vertical Corridor initiative. This terminal is crucial for transporting liquefied natural gas from global sources to Romania and other Central and Eastern European countries. The facility, operational since October 2024, has a regasification capacity of 5.5 billion cubic meters annually. The visit included discussions on a new Memorandum of Understanding to enhance energy connectivity among participating countries. The Vertical Corridor aims to improve gas transport infrastructure and facilitate access to LNG imports from Greece.
