However, the market for electrified vehicles continued to grow, with electric cars increasing by 57% and plug-in hybrids by 71%. Despite an overall decline in new registrations, electrified vehicles now account for 60% of the market. The president of APIA highlighted the need for a stable regulatory framework to support long-term growth in the automotive sector. Major brands like Dacia and Toyota saw significant declines in registrations, while Tesla led the electric vehicle segment.
