Starting April next year, pubs, clubs, and live music venues in England will receive a 20% business tax reduction as part of Prime Minister Andy Burnham's initiative to support local businesses. This £100 million package aims to alleviate living costs for workers and communities. The government estimates that nearly 32,000 establishments will benefit, saving an average of £1,100 for a typical pub. Burnham's administration is also addressing other cost-of-living issues, such as capping bus fares and reducing VAT on electricity bills. The plan has been welcomed by hospitality groups, who see it as a necessary step for investment and job creation.
