Taxa de vânătoare pentru ursul brun: AGVPS, detalii despre aplicarea noilor cote de prevenție și tarifele pentru vânători • Știri Brașov Biz Brasov

The new law on brown bear hunting quotas allows for the harvesting of nearly 1,000 bears by year-end, doubling previous limits. AGVPS president Mugurel Drăgănescu explained the implementation of these quotas and associated fees. The brown bear population in Romania is estimated between 10,500 and 12,700, with a natural increase of about 1,200 annually. The law distinguishes between reactive interventions for dangerous bears and preventive hunting to manage population density. Hunting fees range from €5,000 to €7,000 per bear, with the state receiving a portion. The wolf is currently protected but may be reclassified for hunting, while jackals are proliferating despite high culling quotas. The law aims to restore ecological balance and reduce risks to communities.
