Taiwan denunță exercițiile navale planificate de China
Taiwan has condemned China's planned naval exercises near the island, labeling them a military provocation. The exercises, set for mid-August, involve a Chinese warship and an Indonesian vessel, raising concerns about China's increasing military activities in the region. Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council accused Beijing of attempting to assert control over the waters east of the island. The situation is further complicated by Taiwan's ongoing military drills simulating defense scenarios against potential Chinese invasions. The U.S. is also engaged in discussions with Indonesia regarding military cooperation, emphasizing that it does not aim to establish a U.S. military base there.
