The event featured 1,177 amateur cyclists racing uphill to Krvavec, where Pogacar had his first victory. Despite a chaotic start, Pogacar acknowledged his performance but was outpaced by Frederik Niessen, who won the race in 45:49, finishing 4:02 ahead of Pogacar. Niessen received a handshake from Pogacar as part of his prize.
