Sute de militari ucraineni au dezertat în timpul antrenamentelor din Germania

An investigation reveals that hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers have deserted after or during military training in Germany, with many citing extreme exhaustion and fear of combat. Official reports indicate around 80 cases in Saxony-Anhalt, while unofficial estimates suggest the total could be in the hundreds. The Ukrainian government does not recognize military deserters as refugees, and unauthorized departure from training is punishable by imprisonment. Similar cases have been reported in France, prompting Ukraine to reduce external training programs. Many deserters, like Volodymyr Sulghin, faced abusive treatment and sought to escape the war. It remains uncertain if they will be allowed to stay in Germany, as current refugee laws do not apply to military deserters.
