The Sector 2 of Bucharest is reverting parking spaces from blue, paid by the municipality, back to white, designated for residents. Mayor Rareș Hopincă announced the recovery of these spaces, with 445 new residential parking spots marked, including 207 from previously managed areas. Streets like Tuzla, Ripiceni, and Luntrei have seen new allocations, while more are planned. The municipality aims to create around 2,000 new residential parking spots by year-end and is preparing feasibility studies for additional parking facilities. This change follows a controversial expansion of paid parking by the city, which had previously taken over free spaces used by residents.
