The case stems from a complaint by a businessman who claims to have lost around 1.1 million euros in a fraudulent scheme related to funding for a precious metals business. Initially, Georgescu was placed under judicial control, but prosecutors contested this decision, leading to his eventual arrest. Allegations include convincing the businessman to transfer funds under false pretenses, with part of the money allegedly intended for Georgescu's electoral campaign. The charges will be examined in court.
