President Nicușor Dan is expected to nominate a new Prime Minister for Romania by next weekend, following two previous failed nominations. Informal discussions will precede the nomination, with a new government likely to be in place by mid-September. The previous government led by Ilie Bolojan was dismissed after a no-confidence vote, which highlighted the political instability affecting the economy, as the national currency hit a historic low. Dan's earlier nominees, Eugen Tomac and Adrian Veștea, both failed to secure parliamentary approval.
