Negotiations on the new salary law in Romania have stalled, with no consensus reached after over three hours of discussions among party leaders. Despite the impending loss of PNRR funds, a new law is expected to be adopted in the fall. The current salary law from 2017 is only partially implemented, and significant financial demands from various sectors, totaling around 30 billion lei, remain unmet. Without a new salary law, public sector salaries could be at risk.
