SURSE: Bolojan prelungește măsurile de alertă energetică

Romania will enter an energy alert state starting August 1, 2026, due to the controlled shutdown of Reactor 1 at Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant. Efforts to prevent a complete shutdown have failed, as Reactor 2 was also shut down on August 13. The measures from the dismissed government will remain in effect until September 30, and a national alert will be maintained. Mihai Jurca, from Bolojan's office, confirmed ongoing monitoring of the situation and announced a technical report on the energy crisis will be presented in mid-September. He assured that the safety of the plant is guaranteed, despite the low water levels in the Danube.
