A local PNL councilor in Sibiu resigned amid controversies over recent Administrative Code changes, despite official clarifications on incompatibility. The Ministry of Development stated that the alleged incompatibility does not apply to contractual staff. Following the adoption of Law 165/2026, concerns arose regarding local elected officials also being state employees. Minister Cseke Attila confirmed that there is no current incompatibility for local councilors who are also public employees. Despite this, Adrian Bibu, a PNL councilor, resigned due to initial confusion. Other councilors, like Nicolae Forir, chose to remain in their positions.
