Nuclearelectrica has halted its planned energy auction sessions for long-term contracts starting in 2027, originally scheduled for September 21-25, 2026. The Romanian Commodity Exchange announced that no bids were received, and further details will be provided later. The company intended to auction up to 70.1 million MWh of electricity, with contracts potentially worth around 5.6 billion euros over 20 years. The auction aimed to secure a fixed price for buyers, with a starting price of approximately 91 euros/MWh. The total modernization project is estimated to cost over 20.8 billion lei, with significant expenditures planned for the coming years.
