Supermarketurile sting luminile și opresc muzica pe 20 octombrie. Care este motivul? • Newsweek România

On October 20, 2026, several supermarkets in Germany will implement a 'Quiet Hour' initiative, reducing noise and light to accommodate individuals sensitive to sensory overload. This initiative coincides with Invisible Disabilities Day, highlighting challenges faced by those with conditions like autism and ADHD. Participating stores will turn off music, dim lights, and minimize announcements to create a more comfortable shopping environment. Over 300 stores, including Edeka and Rewe, have joined this effort, which aims to benefit not only those with disabilities but also elderly customers and parents with young children. Some stores already offer weekly quiet hours.
