He criticized the Romanian justice system and called for the release of political prisoners, emphasizing the need for genuine democratic competition. Simion's remarks were made at an international conference organized by AUR, where he expressed concerns over the legitimacy of elections in Romania. Around 70 supporters gathered to back Georgescu, with some opposition party representatives from Belgium and Cyprus also speaking at the event.
