Suma record pentru care a fost vândut un tablou al lui Claude Monet la o licitație din Franța

A painting by Claude Monet, titled "Iris," was sold for a record 50 million euros at a Paris auction, becoming the most expensive artwork sold in France. Previously known only from a black-and-white photograph, the painting was sold by Monet's family to art collector Jeanne Schlumberger. Sotheby’s had estimated the painting's value between 22 and 30 million euros before the auction. Additionally, three paintings by Paul Cézanne were withdrawn from sale to be returned to Aix-en-Provence. Other notable sales included Monet's works and pieces by Renoir and Picasso.
