Substanță interzisă în UE, găsită în parfumuri și cosmetice. Cum verifici dacă o ai acasă • Newsweek România

A recent study revealed that a banned substance, butylphenyl methylpropional (BMHCA), is found in many perfumes and cosmetics sold in the EU. This ingredient, also known as Lilial, has been prohibited since March 2022 due to health risks. An analysis of over 5,000 cosmetic products showed that 82.7% of alerts involved this substance. Consumers are advised to check product labels for BMHCA and avoid using items containing it. The European Safety Gate system can help identify hazardous products, and InfoCons recommends using their app for alerts and barcode scanning. Romania reported 2.6% of the alerts, with Italy leading at 60.6%.
