SUA semnează un contract record cu Lockheed Martin

The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract worth up to $58.6 billion for the production of Patriot PAC-3 MSE interceptors, addressing ammunition shortages due to conflicts in Iran and Ukraine. This agreement transforms a previous annual contract into a multi-year program covering fiscal years 2026-2032, ensuring long-term procurement of interceptors. Lockheed Martin plans to increase its PAC-3 MSE production capacity and expand its workforce significantly. Concurrently, the Pentagon has also signed a similar framework agreement with RTX to boost Tomahawk cruise missile production. Recent analyses indicate that U.S. military stocks of key interceptors are critically low, raising concerns about rapid replenishment.
