A military tribunal will try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in June 2028 for his role in the September 11 attacks. He was captured in 2003 and has been held at Guantanamo since 2006 after being tortured in CIA custody. An appeals court recently overturned a plea deal that could have spared him the death penalty.
