SUA au mediat în secret eliminarea materialului nuclear din Siria

The U.S. facilitated a secret diplomatic agreement for the IAEA to extract nuclear material from a clandestine site in Syria, known as 'Site 99'. This site, destroyed in an Israeli airstrike in 2007, was used by the Assad regime to store radioactive materials. Although the materials cannot be used for standard nuclear weapons, they pose a significant risk for creating a 'dirty bomb'. The new Syrian government is eager to address issues inherited from the Assad regime, including nuclear concerns. Israel has closely monitored Site 99 and warned the U.S. of potential military action if the radioactive material is not removed promptly. The U.S. acted as a mediator to prevent escalation and ensure the safe transport of the nuclear material out of Syria.
