The Romanian Air Force has received a C-130H Hercules transport aircraft from the US government. The handover ceremony took place at Otopeni Air Base, according to the Ministry of National Defense (MApN). This aircraft is part of the Excess Defense Articles (EDA) program, which Romania has benefited from since 1996. This marks the eighth C-130 aircraft added to Romania's military fleet through EDA. The event was attended by the interim Minister of Defense and the US Ambassador to Romania, highlighting nearly 30 years of strategic partnership between the two countries. The C-130H Hercules is known for its versatility and reliability in various missions, including air transport and humanitarian assistance.
