SUA au deportat în Africa peste 500 de migranţi din ţări terţe fără un proces corespunzător
Since January 2025, the U.S. has deported over 500 migrants to African countries without allowing them to contest their expulsion, according to Human Rights Watch. The report highlights that these individuals were sent to nations where they have no ties, as returning to their home countries posed risks to their safety. Countries like Eswatini and Ghana have reportedly detained deported individuals arbitrarily, while others have sent some back to their countries of origin, violating international non-refoulement principles. HRW has called for an end to these deportations and for African governments to cancel agreements with the U.S. regarding migrant reception. The U.S. Supreme Court has temporarily allowed the continuation of this policy, with a final decision expected in mid-2027.
