SUA. Acord de 1,5 miliarde de dolari aprobat în procesul privind drepturile de autor împotriva companiei de inteligență artificială Anthropic
A federal judge in San Francisco has approved a $1.5 billion settlement by Anthropic over a class action regarding unauthorized book use for training its AI chatbot, Claude. This marks a significant milestone in copyright litigation in the U.S. The lawsuit, initiated by authors in 2024, claimed Anthropic used pirated books for training. Although a judge ruled the training constituted fair use, Anthropic was found to have violated laws by maintaining a centralized library of over seven million pirated books. Some authors contest the settlement's adequacy and continue separate lawsuits against Anthropic.
