The U.S. and Romania celebrated the delivery of nine amphibious assault vehicles (AAVs), enhancing NATO's security along the Black Sea coast. This marks a significant step in defense cooperation, with specialized training for the vehicles beginning in Babadag, Tulcea County. The AAVs are designed for challenging terrains and complex missions, providing essential mobility. U.S. Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg emphasized the importance of trust and capabilities in the alliance, highlighting the U.S. Marine Corps' role in logistics and operational expertise. The AAV7A1 can transport up to 21 Marines and is known for its durability and mobility, representing a long-term investment in national defense infrastructure.
