A recent study reveals that 60% of Romanians lack a financial plan for the next year, with 44% unable to save money monthly. The Banometru program participants show significantly better financial management skills compared to the general population. Only 40% of Romanians have a financial plan, while 67% of Banometru participants do. The study highlights improvements in budgeting, saving, and financial security among those who participated in the program. Banometru, launched in 2016, has reached around 350,000 participants and provided extensive financial counseling, leading to substantial debt repayment and savings. The research compares three groups: Banometru participants, those entering the program, and a control group from the general population.
