Studiu: Nu contează doar cât dormi, ci și cum dormi
A recent study involving nearly 100,000 participants suggests that sleep quality and patterns, not just duration, may influence the risk of developing various health conditions. Researchers from Peking University analyzed data from the UK Biobank, using objective measures of sleep through wrist-worn accelerometers. They found that higher amounts of REM sleep were linked to a lower risk of 83 diseases, including heart failure and dementia. Conversely, irregular sleep patterns were associated with increased risks for anxiety disorders. The study highlights the importance of 6-8 hours of sleep for reducing health risks, while also noting that the quality and structure of sleep are crucial factors.
