STUDIU: Maşinile avariate au o probabilitate de 1,5 ori mai mare să aibă kilometrajul modificat
A study reveals that damaged cars in Romania are 1.5 times more likely to have altered mileage compared to undamaged ones. The analysis by carVertical shows that 8.7% of vehicles with damage records had falsified mileage, while only 5.9% of undamaged cars did. Buyers often prefer cars with lower mileage, leading dishonest sellers to roll back odometers to inflate prices. The study indicates a strong correlation between falsified mileage and hidden defects, with over two-thirds of cars with altered mileage also having damage records. In Europe, 61% of cars with falsified mileage had damage records, compared to 47.8% of those with real mileage. The research analyzed vehicle history reports from 18 countries, including Romania, from January to December 2025.
