STUDIU: Consumului de băuturi „foarte fierbinţi” ar putea tripla riscul de cancer esofagian
A recent international study indicates that consuming very hot beverages significantly increases the risk of esophageal tumors. The research, involving nearly 980,000 participants over 14 years, found that drinking hot tea or coffee raises the risk of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) by three times compared to warm drinks. However, it does not affect the risk of adenocarcinoma. Experts recommend allowing hot drinks to cool before consumption to mitigate cancer risks. The findings align with previous studies from various regions, suggesting that high-temperature beverages are likely carcinogenic. Health authorities may use this data to promote cooler beverage consumption to reduce cancer cases.
