Studiu BCR: 48% dintre români nu ar putea acoperi cheltuielile mai mult de o lună fără salariu
A study by Cult Market Research for BCR reveals that nearly half of Romanians could not cover expenses for more than a month without their main income source. While 40% rate their financial knowledge as high, only 3% answered all financial literacy questions correctly. The average score was 7.53 out of 12. Many respondents struggled with questions about interest rates and inflation. However, 82% know how to respond to online fraud attempts. The study also highlights a Dunning-Kruger effect, where those who perceive their financial knowledge as high often perform poorly on tests. Despite this, Romanians show more disciplined financial behavior than the European average, yet many lack savings for emergencies. Television remains the primary source of financial information, with a notable rise in the use of AI tools like ChatGPT for financial education.
