Benjamin William Day, a 20-year-old British criminology student, pleaded guilty to murdering a 24-year-old Romanian woman, shocking the UK public. The crime, inspired by the TV show "Dexter," involved gruesome details, including 78 stab wounds inflicted after the victim was already dead. Day had rented an Airbnb room in Tividale, West Midlands, and prepared it with plastic sheeting and various tools. Initially claiming self-defense, he changed his plea after seeing overwhelming evidence. He had contacted the victim, Maria Săceanu, through a prepaid phone and attacked her upon her arrival. Day was arrested after injuring himself during the crime and later fabricated a story about a fox causing his injury.
