CFR Călători has announced the conditions for student discounts on rail transport for the 2026-2027 academic year, offering a 90% reduction for eligible students. This applies to Romanian and foreign students under 30 enrolled in accredited higher education institutions in Romania. The discount is valid for travel between the student's home and their educational institution. Orphaned students and those from care facilities also qualify. Tickets can be purchased at various outlets, and students must present valid identification. From December 1, 2026, the discount will only be available with the current academic year's student ID. Romanian students studying abroad can receive a 50% discount on rail transport in Romania.
