Străinii pot suplini forța de muncă, dar nu și Armata. Avertismentul fostului șef al Statului Major
The former Chief of the General Staff, General Ștefan Dănilă, warns that Romania's demographic decline and labor shortages threaten national defense. The country faces a significant population exodus, with around six million Romanians living abroad, leading to a projected population drop to eight million by 2100. While foreign workers have been brought in to fill labor gaps, they cannot serve in the military, creating logistical challenges for mobilization. Additionally, the military is becoming less attractive to young Romanians due to low salaries and poor conditions, resulting in increased resignations. The general emphasizes that without a change in perspective and policy, Romania's defense capabilities will be severely compromised.
