The Romanian Competition Council is reviewing the acquisition of Daroconstruct SRL by Austria's Bau Holding Beteiligungs GmbH, part of the Strabag group. Strabag aims to enhance its execution capacity and regional presence through this deal, which is expected to be finalized in late 2026, pending regulatory approvals. Daroconstruct specializes in utility infrastructure projects and has a strong local presence in Iași and Suceava, with revenues of around 70 million euros and approximately 400 employees. Strabag has been active in Romania since 1991 and sees the country as a key growth market in Southeast Europe.
