Călin Georgescu is accused of defrauding businessman Răzvan Leu of 1.1 million euros through unfulfilled credit promises. Despite assurances for loans to develop a precious metals business, no funds were secured, leaving Leu at a loss. Georgescu and Ionel Rusen were detained by DIICOT, facing charges of fraud. Leu, along with former Europol officer Ion Negoescu, provided evidence against Georgescu, including recorded conversations. Promised loans and guarantees failed to materialize, leading to further complications. Ultimately, Leu received a partial repayment of 118,000 lei from Georgescu's father-in-law's account, marking the only recovery from the situation.
