Cezar Avrămuță, known as "Stegarul Dac", was detained for allegedly assaulting a gendarme during protests for Călin Georgescu. He is under investigation for ultraj after hitting a gendarme on the back while the latter was performing his duties. Avrămuță, 59, was already under judicial control for a separate case. The protests at the Central Arrest began after Georgescu's preventive arrest for fraud involving 1.1 million euros. The case against Georgescu includes serious charges and he is also involved in other legal matters. Protests were encouraged by AUR leader George Simion.
