Ștefan Popescu: SUA nu trimit mai mulți militari în România

Analyst Ștefan Popescu stated that the U.S. is not increasing its military presence in Romania, but rather resizing its troops in the region. The Romanian Supreme Council of National Defense approved a military modernization plan for 2027-2036 and a long-term program until 2044. Discussions included the future of U.S. military presence in Romania, emphasizing that NATO's Article 5 does not guarantee automatic military support from all member states. Romania is committed to increasing its defense budget to 5% of GDP by 2035, which could benefit the local defense industry. Popescu warned against adopting a harsh stance towards Russia without clear military support from allies.
