The Romanian government is launching a new edition of the Tezaur program, allowing citizens to invest in state bonds with increased interest rates up to 7.50%. The bonds have maturities of 1, 3, and 5 years, with annual interest rates of 6.50%, 7%, and 7.50%, respectively. Earnings from these bonds are tax-free. For investments of 1,000, 5,000, or 10,000 lei, the annual interest earned varies based on the maturity chosen. The subscription period runs from October 5 to November 6, 2026, with various purchasing options available. The new rates are higher than those offered in the previous edition of the program.
