The Romanian Ministry of Finance borrowed 577.9 million lei through bond issuance, with interest costs exceeding 40 billion lei in the first seven months of the year. Minister Alexandru Nazare emphasized the need for continued budget correction to alleviate financing pressures. The budget deficit decreased to 2.34% of GDP, with revenues rising by 11.2% and total expenditures increasing by only 2.9%. Investments have also grown significantly, supported by European funds. Nazare highlighted the importance of maintaining fiscal discipline and preparing for an upcoming S&P evaluation.
