The U.S. Ambassador to Romania, Darryl Nirenberg, expressed support for Romania amid security threats from drones near its borders. He highlighted progress in developing a National Action Plan to combat unmanned systems, emphasizing that Romania is not alone in facing these challenges. The ambassador's remarks followed a four-day workshop aimed at enhancing government capabilities to detect and counter aerial, surface, and underwater drones. Nirenberg reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-Romania Strategic Partnership, stating that shared concerns must lead to joint actions. He noted that Romania is acutely aware of the drone threat, especially since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
