EU member states have agreed to unlock €6.6 billion for military aid to Ukraine, as announced by EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas. The funds will come from the European Peace Facility, which finances military assistance to non-EU countries. Of the total, €900 million will support the EU military assistance mission for Ukraine, while €1 billion will fund new joint equipment purchases. The remaining €4.7 billion will reimburse member states for their military expenditures, with some already planning to direct funds to Ukraine. Kallas emphasized that this decision counters Russian intimidation efforts.
