The Romanian startup .lumen, which creates AI-powered glasses for the visually impaired, won the Europe’s Best MedTech award in Munich. This competition featured 12 European MedTech startups and was part of the Bits & Pretzels event. .lumen's technology, known as Pedestrian Autonomous Driving (PAD AI), helps users navigate safely using haptic feedback. The award includes participation in Health.tech 2027 and regulatory consultancy services. Recently, .lumen also won the Glovo Tech Catalyst Romania 2026 competition. The startup has secured significant funding, totaling over 13 million EUR, to expand its product into European markets and develop new technologies for urban delivery robots. .lumen has received multiple international accolades, including awards at CES and recognition from the World Economic Forum.
