Stare de urgență energetică în Republica Moldova

The Moldovan Parliament will decide on Tuesday whether to declare a state of emergency in the energy and hydrological sectors. President Maia Sandu emphasized the need for rapid response capabilities in case of energy or water supply issues. The government is preparing measures for the winter season, including emergency energy interconnections with Romania. Sandu highlighted the critical energy situation, linking it to reduced gas supplies from Russia and the ongoing war in Ukraine. Authorities are also planning financial support for vulnerable consumers and addressing potential threats to energy infrastructure. The decision will be made in an extraordinary parliamentary session.
